Service Description
Thank you for your interest in our curbside recycling service in greater New Orleans.Since Hurricane Katrina New Orleans has lacked residential curbside recycling service or even a reliable and consistent location for individuals to drop off their own material. Phoenix Recycling offers a fee based service to answer the needs of those of us who want to recycle a portion of our household waste. The fee is $15 per month ($1 discount, if you are a member of your neighborhood association). We look to reduce the price as more people sign up and we achieve economies of scale. This will allow more people to participate and allow us to recycle more material. We will pick up the following material from your home every other week:
- plastic (includes containers with # 1 through # 7 in the triangle; excludes grocery store bags and other plastic film, Styrofoam and plastic hangers)
- all colors of glass (includes bottles and jars; excludes Pyrex, crystal, glasses and window glass, etc.)
- metal containers (includes aluminum and bi-metal cans; excludes pans, wire hangers, scrap metal and foil)
- newspaper (includes inserts)
- corrugated cardboard (boxes MUST be broken down)
- mixed paper (includes magazines, catalogs, phone books, office paper, junk mail, windowed envelopes, and chipboard packaging, like cereal boxes; excludes milk cartons, individual drink cartons, frozen food packages, 12 pack carriers, and copier paper ream wraps).
To sign up for curbside recycling service, follow the link to our Sign Up Page to complete the enrollment process.
